The Squad
Marty Jencius, host and producer of Circular Firing Squad is in his 27th year as a faculty member having started at Columbus State University, and for the last 24 years on the faculty at Kent State University in the Counselor Education and Supervision program. His previous podcast series CounselorAudioSource.net, aired from 2006 to 2009 and covered topics of interest for counselors and counselor educators. He is also producer of a variety of podcasts in ThePodtalk.net Dr. J. has served in a variety of professional associations, accreditation teams, dissertation committees, university service, and he will find Circular Firing Squad as a great diversion from "work".
Elliott Ingersoll identifies as a Counselor Educator, artist and free thinker. He is a Professional Clinical Counselor in Ohio and holds the titles of Professor of Counselor Education and “Distinguished Faculty Member” at Cleveland State University. He has worked with ego development since meeting Dr. Susann Cook-Greuter in 1995. In addition to ego development, his research interests include psychopathology, mental health diagnosis, psychopharmacology, and spirituality in psychotherapy. He has authored or co-authored nine books and dozens of peer-reviewed papers and book chapters on psychology. Stephanie Marder is a licensed professional counselor currently finishing her doctoral coursework in the Counselor Education and Supervision program at Kent State University. She earned a B. A. in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and an M.A. in Psychology from Boston University before graduating with an M. Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University in 2016. It is apparent that Stephanie simply loves being a graduate student. Stephanie is excited to co-host Grad School Deconstructed and use her 10+ years being a graduate student to help current and future graduate students get the most out of their experiences.
Dr. Eric Perry earned an MA in Community Counseling from Slippery Rock University and a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Duquesne University. His dissertation examined the perceptions of Counselor Educators related to online education and the expansion of online pedagogy. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC - PA), and Board Certified Telemental Health (BC-TMH) provider with most of his experience in community counseling and K-12 treatment settings.
Perry has over 15 years of experience as a classroom and online instructor, working first to train background investigators and then serving as a trainer, instructional designer and curriculum developer for a large mental health service provider in Pittsburgh, PA as well as for other mental health service agencies, educational institutions and training providers. Most recently, Perry has served as a faculty member and program coordinator in an online and hybrid counselor education program as well as core faculty in CACREP-accredited master's in counseling programs. Currently, Perry is a core faculty member with Divine Mercy University's CACREP-accredited master's in counseling program. Perry continues to work toward research related to online pedagogy, supervision, and clinical services in counseling as well as writing projects related to infertility counseling, AI, and technology.

Mitch Conrad is a graduate student attending Cleveland State's University's clinical mental health counseling program and is a graduate assistant in the university's counseling department. He wishes to work with adolescent clients, survivors of human trafficking, and LGBTQ+ clients. Additionally, he is interested in applying and researching the benefits and implementation of psychedelic-assisted therapies in clinical settings. After earning his LPC, Mitch would like to pursue a doctoral degree in counselor education while actively practicing as a therapist. In his free time, he enjoys playing piano and loves all kinds of strategy games.
Brittany (Britt) Pollard-Kosidowski, Ph.D., is a Professor and Graduate Coordinator at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She joined IUP’s faculty in 2015 after graduating from the University of Tennessee and moving from Knoxville to Pittsburgh with her husband and nephew. Her research focuses primarily on the experiential training of counseling students in group work, social justice advocacy, and serving diverse populations. Britt has published and presented extensively on these and related topics and has served for several years as a Board member for the Association for Specialists in Group Work, where she recently co-founded ASGW’s Leadership Institute. She enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, reading, and playing tennis in her spare time!
